While we work with many different types of lighting in many different spaces, one of the most common types of lighting we encounter is cove lighting.
Cove lighting, also known as ambient luminescence, is a lighting technique that diffuses illumination. This form of indirect lighting involves hidden fixtures installed into ceiling valences, ledges, recesses, or high on walls to direct light toward the ceiling or down a selected wall, depending on the placement. The result is beautiful, dramatic lighting. Cove lighting can be used as primary lighting or accent lighting for a space, and it is often chosen to highlight decorative ceilings.
